This illustrated book represents a journey — both physical and imaginary — through some of the places in northern Portugal that managed to keep and celebrate ancient folkloric traditions thus far. These traditions, unknown to many and whose origins still remain a mystery, are celebrated during what portuguese people call Festas do Solstício de Inverno (Winter Solstice Festivities).
